| L. H. | HALLWAY
BALSALL COMMON, UK
What a challenge this hallway was!
The client had a couple of drawings from different architects but was not quite sure about it. He wanted something unique and a “wow” factor.
The entrance was dark, and the second floor connecting the two parts of the house was built covering the front door’s arch.
As it is a listed building, we could not change the windows’ size to improve natural light. We then decided to create a modern and bright design, with plenty of glass to increase lighting to the room. Instead of two flights of stairs, we built a single one using different materials and a glass bridge circulation allowing natural light to flow. The aluminium skirting board with Led lighting ties up the contemporary design.
